You find yourself rooting for the characters as they journey through adventures. The Falcon Princess conveys feelings to the reader (empathy, homesickness, doubt, and conflict) that make one become intertwined with the plot and vested in the outcome. I devoured the book in two days and was sad upon finishing it, not because of the ending, but because it was the end of a thoroughly enjoyed experience.

She is fierce and sweet but highly relatable. I think we'd all be tempted to switch places with someone. Poor Wren bumbles into a mistake but I loved the journey it took her on. I also adore some of the other characters and want to find out what happened to them afterwards. This is a beautiful story with a world you want to come back to. In turns it surprises and delights. There were scenes and dialogue that made me smile so big. I wanted to reread them on repeat thinking about how perfectly imperfect Wren and the people around her are. I'm hoping Wren's story is
the first of many I get to enjoy from
Jill Turner Claybrook.
